To celebrate its third-ever Stephen King movie marathon this fall, Dish has created every horror spooky season expert’s dream job. The satellite TV network is offering one lucky winner $1,300 to watch 13 iconic King adaptations.
According to USDish.com, “The ideal candidate has to be detail-oriented enough to track their experience. They could even share their scares on social media and vlog every time they jump out of their seats.”
The winner must watch the following films:
They’ll also wear a Fitbit provided by Dish to track their heart rate while watching each film. Dish will use the subsequent data to determine the scariest Stephen King film and villain. The viewer will be asked to watch all the movies in the dark and write down whether their viewing experience has had any impact on their sleep quality — assuming they can even fall asleep!
To make their trips to Derry, Maine and the Overlook Hotel well worth it, Dish will pay the viewer roughly $100 per movie. Plus, they’ll receive a “survival kit” swag bag with a value of $350, which includes a blanket, popcorn, candy, and some Stephen King paraphernalia.
Those who’d like to apply for this spooky opportunity should apply directly on the Dish website, where they will fill out a questionnaire and write a short blurb explaining why they’re the ultimate King fan. Applicants must be 18 years or older and a US citizen or permanent resident.
Applications close on Friday, Sept. 16, with Dish selecting a winner shortly afterward. The lucky viewer will have the entire month of October to watch all 13 films. Good luck!
