Take a Peek Inside Walt Disney’s Former Technicolor Dream House

At first glance, you probably wouldn’t suspect the playful interior hiding behind the facade of 2688 South Camino Real in Palm Springs, California. But you’d be in for a surprise once you passed through the bright red front door, because all it takes is one step inside to see why Walt Disney’s former desert vacation home was dubbed his “Technicolor Dream House.”

The home, located in the Indian Canyons neighborhood of Palm Springs, was built for Walt Disney and his wife in the early 1960s and remained in the family until 2015.

Named the “Walt Disney Technicolor Dream House,” the single-story residence embodies a playful spirit throughout, starting with the entryway.

The main living spaces are energized with bold colors, shiny tiled floors, and pop-art furnishings. A wall of sliding glass doors are draped in Mickey-Mouse curtains.

The four-bedroom, four-bath residence features a vibrant interior, brought to life with bursts of color, playful patterns, and of course, the requisite Disney-themed decor. Otherwise, the home offers the best of Palm Springs indoor-outdoor living, including a private backyard with a pool and mountain views. The living area continues around to meet a dining are and wet bar, along with an additional seating area next to the kitchen. Sliding glass doors extending the space to the backyard.

Capping the great room, a galley kitchen offers double ample cabinetry, double ovens, and a door out to the patio.

Here, a look at one of the home’s four bedrooms. The spacious master suite features mirrored furnishings and direct access to the backyard.

The master bathroom offers plenty a double vanity and additional closet space.
