Even if your home’s aesthetic leans more to monochrome or minimalist, the bedroom is the perfect place to inject some colour. That’s why Rachel Castle’s eponymous homewares brand CASTLE, is synonymous with all-thing colour and pattern. The small business’ motto says it all: ‘CASTLE loves having a bit of fun’. And fun is the perfect adjective to describe their new SS22 range.
The collection features bright flat sheets, quilt covers, throws and cushions that has been carefully curated from CASTLE’s Marrickville studio. Rachel and her team of six have been working on the designs since September last year, when they hand-drew the charming Sweet Dreams print.
‘The pandemic left so many of us dull and flat, we really wanted to celebrate the summer coming with an explosion of colour and pattern,’ Rachel says. ‘We started with some of our favourite little drawings and then thought, let’s just do them all in one big glorious joyful pattern!’
It’s a combination of all the motifs CASTLE has become known for, with stars, flowers, and positive words of affirmation in one graphic design.
But for those a little less bold, Rachel also created a full bedding range in a new blue and cream stripe print, which is reminiscent of a ‘beautiful crisp cotton shirt’ and perfect for layering pops of colour over. There’s also a matching set of pyjamas, and an equally sweet gingham pair.
The cushions are just as joyful, ranging from a striped-yellow pillow, a retro-inspired shag cover and a watermelon cushion that screams summer!
